Nowadays, Wi-Fi is an indispensable part of our daily lives. To have strong and stable Wi-Fi signals like today, researchers have spent a lot of time and effort researching and developing the best quality Wi-Fi routers.
However, that is still not enough. Engineers and researchers are constantly striving to produce top-quality products to serve users. Today, that effort has been justly rewarded as researchers have successfully developed a new Wi-Fi chip that makes Wi-Fi speeds many times faster.

Development process of the Chip in Wi-Fi routers

Analysis of the operating mechanism of Wi-Fi routers
A typical Wi-Fi router always has 2 main functions: receiving and transmitting Wi-Fi signals, denoted as TX and RX respectively. For a cheap Wi-Fi router, there is only 1 antenna, so TX and RX have to share the same antenna, which requires a chip to route TX and RX. However, this leads to limitations in speed and stability of the Wi-Fi signal.

Modern Wi-Fi routers usually have 2 antennas so that each signal stream TX, RX uses a dedicated antenna. But to optimize the Wi-Fi router, engineers have to research and develop a device powerful enough to process the received and transmitted information while ensuring the best Wi-Fi connection.

Recently, leading science and technology researchers in the US have successfully developed a chip that meets this demand by processing both continuous information streams without causing signal interference. Thanks to this, if this technology is used, a Wi-Fi router with the same number of "antennas" as a router using old technology will have Wi-Fi speeds many times faster.

Chip uses technologyFull-duplex helps devices transmit information from both sides simultaneously and at the same frequency. Just like when we make phone calls, both sides can speak at the same time, which is calledFull-duplex while a walkie-talkie at the same time can only send or receive one signal at the same frequency, it is calledHalf-duplex.
The release of this latest chip will be a breakthrough in the development of wireless communication networks. Helping us design more advanced, compact, and powerful Wi-Fi devices.
