Documents needed to prepare when applying for a passport

The first step to getting a passport is to prepare the necessary documents to avoid asking what documents are needed for a passport. For a smooth visa application process, you need to prepare the following documents:

• Form X01 for passport application: all necessary information must be filled in (each section of the form has instructions on how to fill it out). No confirmation from the local police station is required.
• 3 photos sized 4x6 with a white background, taken facing forward, without glasses, and taken within the last 6 months.
• When submitting the application, you must present your original, intact, undamaged identity card (valid within 15 years from the date of issue to the date of passport application).

For children under 14 years old:

• Form X01 – the application form for a first-time passport for children requires confirmation from the local police station at the bottom of the page and on the photo.
• If applying for a joint passport with parents, a copy of the birth certificate and 4 photos sized 3x4 must be presented.
• If applying for a separate passport, you will need 1 application form, a copy of your birth certificate, and 4 photos (3x4cm).

Cases for submitting passport applications and receiving results at the Immigration Management Division of the Provincial or Municipal Police where you reside or temporarily reside: cases for first-time passport issuance; passport reissuance; amendment or supplementation of passports; authorization for legal entities, organizations, or businesses to submit applications and receive results.

Normally, it takes 8 days from the date you submit your visa application to the date you receive your visa. Answering the question of what documents are needed for a passport, the time may also be longer depending on the visa issuing authority.
