Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia, located on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand and situated between Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. Cambodia borders Vietnam to the east and southeast. Many Vietnamese tourists visiting Cambodia often wonder: Does Cambodia have a beach? This is because many people think Cambodia is located next to Laos, making it unlikely to have a coastline.
Most of Cambodia consists of undulating plains located almost in the center. The Mekong River flows from north to south through the country and is the 12th longest river in the world. Most of Cambodia's rivers flow into Tonle Sap or the Mekong River. The Phnom Kravanh and Damrei mountain ranges form a watershed. In the east, rivers flow into Tonle Sap, while rivers on the western slopes flow into the Gulf of Thailand. However, in the southern reaches of the Damrei Mountains, due to topographical influences, some small rivers flow southward and deviate eastward of the watershed.
As you can see above, Cambodia has many beaches such as Koh Rong Samloem, Koh Rong, Kep, Koh Ta Kiev, Sihanoukville... Let's visit the three most famous beaches in Cambodia: Koh Rong Samloem, Koh Rong, and Sihanoukville.

Sihanoukville Beach
Similar to Vung Tau, Sihanoukville is a coastal city with the only deep-water port in Cambodia. It features long beaches with white sand and poetic, crystal-clear blue water. This beach is only a 5-hour drive from Phnom Penh. You can relax and enjoy the sea by taking a bus. This beach offers a romantic setting, perfect for couples on vacation or honeymoons.
Sihanoukville is most beautiful at night with the sparkling, magical lights from its array of restaurants, hotels, and bars… In this city, you can visit small bars, sip a beer, or sit on rattan chairs or swings in a corner by the sea to enjoy seafood and watch fireworks. All entertainment and dining activities are concentrated near the center, especially along Serendipity Beach. Sitting by Serendipity Beach, enjoying a beer while watching the sea and fireworks, is a truly wonderful feeling.

Koh Rong Samloem Island Beach
Koh Rong Sanloem is an island off the coast of Sihanoukville, Cambodia. You can take a ferry to Koh Rong Samloem, which takes about 2.5 hours. If you prefer to go faster, you can take a speedboat, which takes only 40 minutes.
The island's area is 24.5 km². Interesting tourist spots on this island include: M'Pai Bay, Koh Koun, Saracen Bay beach, Koh Rong Samloem lighthouse. There are many fun activities and delicious food waiting for you to explore here. However, if you prefer lively places, this island might not be for you. Koh Rong Samloem's beaches are quiet and sparsely populated.
Resorts line the beaches, making these resorts extremely private and peaceful. The sand is fine and white, the water is clear, shallow, and extremely safe. You can use the sun loungers, swings, treehouses, and hammocks on the beach for free. You can even sit in any cafe without ordering anything. Besides swimming, you can trek through the jungle to reach other resorts like Huba Huba, RobinSon, and The Lazy Beach. The beaches in this area have larger waves, are windier, and are almost deserted. You can also join the “Full Moon party” if you arrive on the island during a full moon.
Koh Rong Island Beach
Koh Rong Island (Old Dragon) is a large island in Koh Kong province of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Koh Rong is the second largest island in Cambodia with an area of 78 km². To get to Koh Rong Island, you have to take a boat or ferry. There are only speedboats from Kohrong Samloem to Koh Rong, but not the other way around, so if you want to visit both islands, you should go to Kohrong Samloem first.
