What is a Schengen Visa?
You may be unfamiliar with the term Schengen Visa, but it is a travel visa valid for 26 European countries. Simply put, these 26 European countries use the same visa, and if you are granted a visa by any one of these 26 countries, it means the remaining 25 countries welcome you to visit.

There are some notes regarding visa applications as follows:
- If you are only visiting one country, you only need to apply for a visa from that country.
- If you are visiting two or more countries, you must apply for a visa from the country where you will be staying the longest. If the length of stay is equal in multiple countries, apply for a visa from the country you will enter first.Usually, people travel to multiple European countries because these countries are close to each other, similar to provinces within Vietnam.
For example, if you plan to visit France, Germany, and Italy, and you will fly to France first.
- If you are staying in Italy the longest, you must apply for a Schengen visa at the Italian Embassy/Consulate.
- Nếu ở Ý lâu nhất, bạn phải đến Đại sứ quán/Lãnh sự quán Ý để xin visa Schengen.
- If the length of stay in the 3 countries is the same, you must go to the French Embassy/Consulate to apply for a European visa.
For my recent European trip, I applied for a European visa at TLSContact – the official authorized representative of the French Embassy/Consulate in Vietnam, specializing in receiving, collecting fees, and returning passports for European visa applicants.

Fill out the visa application form to submit your documents
There are many ways for you to get a complete visa application form. The first way is you can go to the embassy to get the visa application form and fill it all out. Or you can go to websites to download the form and fill in the complete information. A point to note is that you must fill in the information carefully and completely, and you must fill in correctly and not leave the fields marked with (*).My recent experience applying for a European visa shows that before submitting the application, the receptionist will check this declaration form one last time and only help with necessary corrections.
